Most of the waste that is produced in a household originates in the kitchen. Much of the food we eat and the products that we use are sold to us in packaging that the manufacturer knows will end up in the trash. But with a little creativity and some innovative recycling ideas, you can reduce the trash heading to the landfill and do your part to help the environment.
There are many items that you use in a kitchen that can be given a second life. Here’s how.
People often throw away old scissors. After all, they’re quite difficult to sharpen. Most knife sharpeners are just too big to use on a pair of scissors.
Here’s a tip: use sandpaper instead. Using sandpaper, you can easily sand the edge of your scissors until they’re sharp again.
Just spend ten minutes sanding as you’re watching TV or listening to some music. They’ll be good as new.
